Frequently Asked Questions

That depends. Typically, there can be some discomfort.

There are many topical creams containing 5% lidocaine that may be applied prior to the tattoo service. Follow the instructions on the ointment, and check with the artist prior to use.

DO NOT apply any numbing cream prior to any permanent makeup services. Your artist will have ointments and appropriate protocols for safe numbing prior (and during) the semi-permanent makeup services.

Avoid alcohol, fish oil, aspirin, and ibuprofen 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. This thins the blood and can result in the inability to complete the service as well as impact healing.

Bring snacks and water to the appointment to stay nourished and hydrated.

Some medspa services may need to be avoided (for a certain timeframe) prior to a semi-permanent makeup service. Reach out to ensure you meet the requirements prior.

The healing process is different for everyone. Each client will receive a detailed aftercare instruction for the service provided.

There may be redness and swelling following a tattoo or permanent makeup service. Flaking is also normal.

Everyone is different, but..

Tattoos are applied using permanent pigments and techniques and should not require touch ups.

Permanent makeup is actually semi-permanent. Depending on the service an initial touch up may or may not be necessary, and an “annual touch up” may be necessary anywhere between 1-3 years after the initial services. Many personal factors can affect the rate at which a touch up may be required. Some individuals may need additional touch ups or sessions to achieve the desired look.

Aftercare is SO important!
